SIMON NANCY JANE A lifetime resident of the Allegheny County area, and a resident of Ben Avon Heights since 1936, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2015. She attended the College of Wooster, received her Bachelor's degree from the Carnegie Institute of Technology and a Master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She had a dual career, one in the field of special Education and the other at Gulf Oil Corporation where she retired as Manager of Medical Administration. She was a former member of the Twentieth Century Club and the Junior League of Pittsburgh. She served on the Council of the Borough of Ben Avon Heights. She was an active member of her church where she taught Sunday school, served as an elder and was on the Board of Deacons and served on many of the various church committees. Her life was shaped by the years near the rivers and hills of southwestern Pennsylvania and the lake country of Northern Michigan where she vacationed for over seventy years with her family on lake Charlevoix. In her later years she received pleasure sharing time with family and friends. Nancy's life was centered on her faith, giving to others and always looking for the best in people. She had a special place in her heart for the many dogs she cared for and loved throughout the years. She is survived by her brother, William P. Simon and his wife, Lois; and her sister, Jean Hollister and her husband, William; and nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
