SKANDER ROBERT A. "SHANK" On Thursday, July 23, 2015, age 71, of Mars, passed away in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Surviving are his wife and the love of his life, Patricia Ebert Skander; four daughters, Robin Graham (Jay), Shelly Campitelli (Gabe), Jodi McKevitt (Sean) and Mindy Pletz; a son, Robert A. Skander, Jr. (Tammy); two stepdaughters, Brenda Mazinski (Jason) and Christina Lee (Paul); 16 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two sisters, Janice Govan (Frank) and Stephanie Grove; a brother, Dale "Tony" Skander; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his brothers, Richard and David. Shank had been an iron worker for the Iron Workers Union Local 3, where he was a member for 50 years. He was a social member of the Mars V.F.W. He enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Retired Boys Golf League. Friends are invited to a Celebration of Shank's Life at the Mars V.F.W. Post 7505, 331 Mars-Valencia Rd., Mars, PA on Friday, August 21, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. The family will greet friends at a reception following the service.
