SCOTT JAMES EDWARD 84 years old, passed away on December 26, 2015, at Brookdale Assisted Living in Sandy Springs, Georgia. Jim was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Jim was born on December 6, 1931, in Springfield, Massachusetts, the first child of Emma Marie Klopfenstein and Frederick James Scott. His younger sister is Anne Marie Hynes, married to Robert Hynes. Jim grew up in Suffield, Connecticut and later Agawam, Massachusetts, graduating from Agawam High School. Jim enlisted in the US Navy in 1951, serving for four years. On September 3, 1955, he married Doreen Campbell. Jim earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from University of Massachusetts and an MBA from Western New England College. Jim worked for Mott's Supermarkets in Connecticut and then Charley Brothers in Greensburg, Pennsylvania as Vice President of Retail Operations. After retiring from the supermarket business, Jim started a new career with Doreen running discount book stores from Buffalo, New York. Jim is survived by his loving wife, Doreen; his daughter, Cheryl Lyn King and her husband, Thomas Howard King; and daughter, Kimberly Scott and her husband, Robert James Seman; grandchildren, Brian Thomas King, Matthew James King, Zachary Robert Seman, Aaron James Seman; great-grandson, Zachary Robert Ahmed Seman; sister, Anne Marie Hynes and her husband, Robert Hynes; nieces, Carol Hynes Faidley and Karen Krygowski Bruno; and nephews, James Campbell, Allen Hynes, Kenneth Hynes, and Mark Hynes. A Memorial Service was held on December 29, 2015, at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church in Marietta, Georgia. Send condolences post-gazette.com/gb
