AIKEN WILDA “WILLIE” WIBLE AGE...

AIKEN WILDA “WILLIE” WIBLE Age 94, Wilda “Willie” Wible Aiken, of Fox Chapel, passed away peacefully at home, on Wednesday, January 6, 2016, with her family at her side. She was the daughter of the late James and Rachel (Riley) Boa, born November 7, 1921. Willie was a devoted wife of 31 years to Lewis “Bud” A. Wible, until his passing in 1979. They were married at Shadyside Presbyterian Church on September 2, 1948, and throughout their marriage was dedicated to her husband's company, Union Electric Steel. A tradition of Willie and Bud's was a nightly game of Gin Rummy. In 1985, Wilda married William “Bill” M. Aiken of H.B. Maynard until his untimely death two years later in 1988. Once again, she was able to enjoy being a wife and being involved with a company, traveling and entertaining customers. She loved the business world. A lifelong resident of Pittsburgh, Wilda was Salutatorian at Oakdale High School, a model for Jonasson's Department Store and a secretary for a Pittsburgh law firm before being introduced to her husband, Bud, by her then to be mother-in-law, Waiva Klare Wible. She was involved with The Florence Crittenton Home, in Shadyside, serving as President of the Board, often bringing young girls home for dinner. Throughout the years, she enjoyed being a member of the Fox Chapel Golf Club, Longue Vue Club, Pittsburgh Athletic Association, The Duquesne Club and Twentieth Century Club. With friends, Wilda enjoyed duckpin bowling at the University Club, attending Garden Club and Bridge Club. At the time of her death, she was a member of the Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church. She was a loving mother to children, James O. Wible (Norma), Lewis “Buster” A. Wible, Jr. (Tisa), Lynn Wible Chambers, stepchildren, William M. Aiken, Jr., David R. Aiken, Betsy Aiken Paranjpe; grandchildren, Judson F. Wible (Devon), Jerald L. Wible (Elise), Leslie W. Skinner (Jason), Eugene “Law” P. Chambers IV, Hollis W. Chambers, Cody “Buster” Harrison Chambers; great-grandchildren, Lewis and Robert. Robert being born on his great-grandmother's 94th birthday, November 7, 2015; also survived by her nieces, Joyce W. Teeft (Al) and Carol W. Patterson; and caregiver and companion, Marlene Ketterer. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Blanche B. Walker, Dorothy B. Wallace and a beloved brother-in-law, Christian W. Walker. No Visitation. Service and Interment in Homewood Cemetery is private. Funeral arrangements by WEDDELL - AJAK FUNERAL HOME, Aspinwall.
