TARAPCHAK CICILY ANN Cicily Ann Tarapchak, 74, died January 19, 2016, after a short illness, in Butler Memorial Hospital. Born in Brownsville, she was the daughter of the late Margaret and George Tarapchak. A Monaca High School Graduate she received an associate degree in commercial arts from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. As a commercial artist she worked for several companies and was a Visual Merchandising Supervisor for Fashion Bug in the tri-state area for many years. She was an internationally recognized beader and had been called “A Maven of Creation” by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Cicily was a member of the Obsessive Compulsive Beadworkers of PA and the Beaver Art Group. She traveled extensively and her favorite destination was Barcelona, Spain. She enjoyed oil painting, swimming, trying exotic foods and making people laugh. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Tarapchak. She is survived by her fiancé, James Stephens; lifetime friend, Juliana (John) Carpenter of Slippery Rock; and several cousins. Interment will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in St. John's Cemetery, 1270 Chapel Road, Monaca by Rev. Robert J. Miller of Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Beaver.
