KALAS-HESTER DORIS M. (CRANSTON) Age 85, of North Huntingdon, died Thursday, August 6, 2015, at Transitions Health Care in North Huntingdon. She was born September 30, 1929, in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Harry and Ruth Jones Cranston. Doris began her career as an elevator operator for the former Joseph Horne Co. of Pittsburgh, then moved into the men's sales department and retired with over 37 years of service. Doris will always be remembered as a kind person who made friends with everyone she met. She enjoyed her family and co-workers. Doris appreciated and loved everyone in her life. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Kalas; a brother, James Cranston; and her dear friend and companion, Bernie Spilecki. Surviving are a son, Robert "Rocky" Kalas and his wife, Cathie of North Huntingdon; three grandsons, Robert, Andrew and Michael Kalas; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Cranston of Maryland; and her beloved pet dog, Foxy.
