LOGAN DONALD “DUTCH” “RED” Donald "Dutch" or "Red" Logan was born October 5, 1929, and passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2015, as he was returning home from a lengthy hospital stay. Dutch was born, lived and died in the Monroeville/Pitcairn area, the first child of Rachel (Hott) and Harry Logan. When asked about his work, he always replied, "You name it, I did it." He bought a truck and started his own business hauling coal at 18, and worked on the Union Railroad, but he spent most of his life building homes in Monroeville and working as a union cement finisher. Dutch married Gloria Arcolli (deceased 2011) in 1950, and together they raised four children who will miss him greatly. They are Paula (Fran) Daily, Donna (Paul) Meitzler, Donald (Sue), and Kevin (Rhonda). He was the beloved and extremely proud grandfather of five and great- grandfather of six. He is also survived by brothers, Harry (Carole) Logan and Wade (Marilyn) Logan; and in-laws, Norma and Mike Corletti and Marge Logan; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Joyce; and brothers, Larry and Bruce. The family wishes to especially thank his loving caregivers, Theresa Anthony and Dolores Starkey, who cared for this "gruff bear of a guy" as though he were their own father. Friends will be received Monday, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC. (MONROEVILLE / PLUM CHAPEL), corner of Beatty Rd. and 48 North, Monroeville (412-856-4747). Private interment will take place in Good Shepherd Cemetery. www.jobefuneralhome.com Send condolences post-gazette.com/gb
