MARSHALL ELIZABETH GRAHAM LOWE Age 90, of South Orleans, MA and formerly of Fox Chapel and St. Augustine, FL, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 27, 2015. A descendant of Edward Rawson, First Secretary of the Massachusetts Bay Colony. Second daughter of the late Kathryn G. Tunstall and George Christie Lowe and sister of the late Kathryn Corinne Lowe Swartwout, she was born March 21, 1925, in Beardstown, IL. Betty attended White Plains H.S., NY and Chatham University. She was formerly married to late Houston B. Marshall. She was a former member of the Junior League of Pittsburgh and other organizations. She was an enthusiastic golfer, tennis player, horseback rider and gardener and enjoyed sailing and navigating her boats through the waters of Long Island Sound, St. Augustine Harbor in FL and Pleasant Bay, MA. Betty was a lifelong artist and enjoyed many visual arts. She studied stone carving under Henry Bursztynowicz but mostly concentrated on oils. Mother of Corinne E. (John R. Babson, Jr. of Pittsburgh), Houston B., Jr., and Robert Elder Marshall (Peggy Lee Humes) of New Alexandria, PA; grandmother of John R. Babson III (Abigail Olken) of Boston, MA, Kathryn B. Brewer of Wilmington, NC, and Robert E. Marshall, Jr. of Charlotte, NC; great-grandmother of Elizabeth and Cameron Brewer of Wilmington, NC and Jack and Alexander Babson of Boston, MA; also survived by many nieces and nephews. No visitation. Service and Interment in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Omaha, NE is private. A memorial celebration of her life is being planned for a later date. Funeral arrangements are by WEDDELL - AJAK FUNERAL HOME, Aspinwall.
