MARIANNE (CLARK) HAGGERTY Age 77, of Braddock, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 8, 2019, in her Etna home surrounded by her three children. Marianne was the beloved wife of the late Harry J. Haggerty, Jr. (“Mickey”); loving mother of Marianne Haggerty, Colleen (Jeff) Yukevich and Michael (Catherine) Haggerty; proud grandmother of Ella Yukevich, Anne Yukevich, Viola Haggerty and Harry J. Haggerty; beloved daughter of the late Paul and Mary (Keely) Clark; loving sister of Ret. Lieutenant Colonel James (Vickie) Clark, the late Paul (Sharon) Clark and the late William (Karen) Clark. Born November 30, 1941, in Braddock, Pennsylvania, Marianne attended St. Thomas High School in Braddock, graduating in 1959. After graduation, Marianne worked in the credit union of the Edgar Thomson Steel Works, where she enjoyed spending lunch breaks with her father Paul (“Nifty”), who was a pipefitter with the company. While Braddock always held a very special place in Marianne's heart, she and her beloved husband Harry moved to Etna to raise their growing family. Many happy memories were made in their house on Vista Street, where Marianne remained for the next 47 years. Marianne was an avid reader, a gifted seamstress and enjoyed testing her knowledge working on Pittsburgh Post-Gazette crossword puzzles. After her children got older, she returned to the workforce and spent nearly fifteen years working for J.C. Penney's Catalog/Eckerd Division at the Waterworks Plaza. Marianne formed many close friendships while working at J.C. Penney and retired as a Customer Service Supervisor. Marianne had a calm demeanor, a very kind heart and an unwavering devotion to her family. She possessed an amazing work ethic, a wonderful sense of humor and a deep-rooted sense of empathy, always showing concern for the less fortunate. Marianne cherished spending time with her four grandchildren, Ella, Anne, Viola and Harry. Her smile would light up the room when her “grand-guppies” came to visit. GINGER A. DUNMIRE Ginger Allene Dunmire, age 52, formerly of Glassport, passed away peacefully at her home in Rostraver on Mon., Sept. 9, 2019. Ginger was a graduate of California University of Pennsylvania and went on to a career in pharmaceutical sales. Her intelligence and dedication to hard work enabled her to become very successful at her chosen profession. She will be remembered for her kind heart, love of animals, and her beautiful smile. Born July 16, 1967 in the former Homestead Hospital, she was a daughter of Judy Dunmire of Glassport and the late Glenn A Dunmire. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her brother, Tim Dunmire, and many cousins and dear friends. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Gary Dunmire; grandparents, Bill and Ferne Moffit and Warren and Goldie Dunmire; and fiance, Billy Perry. FRANCES (ENGSTROM) SKELLY On Monday, September 9, 2019, of Mount Lebanon. Fran was an extraordinarily beautiful and elegant lady. She is now in heaven with her late son, Robert Henderson. Adored wife of 48 years of John “Jack” Skelly. She is also survived by her sons from a previous marriage, James Henderson, of NYC, Charles (Kathleen) Henderson, of North Carolina; stepson, Stephen (Debbie) Skelly, of FL; granddaughters, Dr. Amy Henderson of PA, and Diane, of NYC. Fran graduated with a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin. She was married to her husband in March 1972, and then left for Brussels, Belgium for Jack's assignment as treasurer for Westinghouse, Europe. From 1975-1980, she was director of volunteer services at West Penn Hospital. In 1980, they left for Singapore for Jack's position as treasurer of Westinghouse, Asia-Pacific. She was president of the American Club in Singapore during these three years. Everywhere Fran went, she would draw attention, particularly when she entered a room with a crowd of people. Upon early retirement, Jack fulfilled his lifelong dream of becoming an actor and dragged Fran kicking and screaming into the spotlight. She appeared in many training films; made her stage debut when she was 70 years old at Baldwin Players; and did numerous print work, including for General Nutrition, Nemacolin Woodlands, and other large companies. Fran will be lovingly missed by many friends. Funeral arrangement by BEINHAUERS. TIMOTHY M. GALLAGHER Age 68, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 8, 2019. Born on December 25, 1950, he was the son of the late Jack and Margaret Gallagher. He was a loving father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. Timothy was a dedicated musician, filmmaker, writer and member of SAG for numerous years. He was a fixture in the Pittsburgh community as a public servant for nearly 30 years. His efforts contributed to the hiring of hundreds of workers for the Division of Federal Programs, JOBPOWER. LOUIS NUCCI Of Chalfant, age 92, died peacefully at home with his family on Tuesday, September 10, 2019. Beloved husband of Betty (Pavlik) Nucci for 71 years; loving and treasured father of Tony (Teresa) Nucci of Adams Twp., Diane Nucci and Mickey (Debra) Nucci, both of North Huntingdon and the late Lorraine N. McLendon (surviving spouse, Junior); dear grandfather of Nicholas (Emilee) Nucci and Brett (Renee) Harris; Gianna Nucci; and April Ladner. Lou is also survived by four great-grandchildren; brother of the late John (late Mary) Nucci and the late Domenic (surviving spouse, Tillie) Nucci. Lou was a proud WW II Navy veteran and a retired project manager for the Facilities Management Department of the University of Pittsburgh. Lou loved to play golf. JOHN J. HENRY Age 93, of Fox Chapel, passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2019. Beloved husband of 61 years to Mary (Healy) Henry; loving father of Christopher J. (Lynda) Henry, Brian J. (Deborah) Henry, Clare Henry Dougherty, Austin P. (Betsy) Henry, Mark A. Henry, J. Douglas (Claudia) Henry, Thomas O. Henry and the late Patricia A. Henry; cherished grandfather of Catherine, John, Sara, Owen, Hugh, Caroline, Austin, Michael, Oliver, John Paul, Grace, Sophia, Samuel, and Jack; brother of the late Augustine Henry, Kay Scullion and Thomas Henry. Born in 1926 in Queens, NY, John grew up during the Great Depression as an enterprising and entrepreneurial young man operating turnstiles and selling programs for the Brooklyn Dodgers at Ebbets Field. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII as a fire direction coordinator for field artillery in France and Germany. He graduated with honors from Syracuse University in 1949 and in that same year began what was to be a very successful business career with a position as an accountant at Ford Motor Co. He then served as a controller with Curtiss-Wright Corp. before joining North American Rockwell in 1967, rising to the position of Sr. Vice President at what was then Rockwell International. He was instrumental in expanding Rockwell's success in the aerospace industry. His passion for American manufacturing led him to a long and storied career as an industrial entrepreneur. He went on to become President of Admiral Corporation and Chairman and CEO of Sinclair & Rush, Inc., a position he held at the time of his death. He was a thoughtful, loving and deeply generous man who, with his devoted and beloved wife, Mary, raised eight children who will sorely miss his lively dinner conversation. His devotion to his wife served as an inspirational example to many. He was a dedicated servant and donor to many local charitable and educational organizations, his most cherished of these being Epiphany Association and Duquesne University, where he served as a Trustee for many years. ROBERT CARL PESSOLANO Age 68, passed peacefully on September 10, 2019. Beloved son of the late Carl and Lorena Pessolano. Bob is survived by his wife, Katherine Gray Pessolano; father of Nicole (Ben) Kopel and Lorenzo and Louis Pessolano; brother of Nancy Pessolano and Joan (Craig) Stewart; proud grandfather of Avery, Calvin and Savannah. Bob was a graduate of Oakmont High and West Virginia University. He spent his summers working at the shore where he found his passion for the restaurant business. Bob and his then wife Mona, opened Mario's South Side (1982) on E. Carson Street, Pittsburgh. Bob was considered a visionary in the city's local restaurant and bar scene and is credited with beginning the renaissance of Pittsburgh's South Side. In addition to Mario's, they opened Blue Lou's and eventually Nick's Fat City. He enjoyed his hometown teams; the Steelers, Penguins, Pitt Athletics and even the Pirates. He loved the city of Pittsburgh and spent most of his adult life here. Upon his retirement, he and his wife Katie relocated to San Miguel, CA to pursue his dream of owning a vineyard. Bob, Katie and Lorenzo returned home last year to be with friends and family. Most recently, Gordon worked at BMW Motorcycles of Pittsburgh as their Service Manager and spent a total of 11 years in the motorcycle business. BARBARA GIFFEN Age 79, of Squirrel Hill, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 with her family by her side. Barb loved her family fiercely. No goodbye went without tears in her eyes, even for a quick family dinner. She lived a beautiful life full of adventures with her loving husband of 60 years, Chuck. They passed this love of life on to their children and grandchildren. Attired in black leather, Barb motorcycled on the back of Chuck's Harley with friends all over the United States. With Chuck's passion, Barb learned to ski, bowl, ride bicycles (even though she was never thrilled about it) and swim in the ocean. Many days of joy were spent at Seven Springs with her family and friends. Their ski trips to Vail were a highlight of their year and she loved spending time with their friends. Barb is survived by her loving husband, Chuck; three daughters who loved her dearly, Becky Havyer (Brian), Caryn Miller (Alvin, IV) and Joni Ferrara (Joe), six amazing grandchildren that “Grandma” loved to spoil, Carly, Jenna, Rena, Casey, Alexander and Ryan as well as countless family and friends. Everyone who knew Barb loved her spirit and smile, including all of the dedicated nurses and doctors at Mercy Hospital who cared for her. She will be missed deeply by all who knew her. Services at Temple Ohav Shalom, 8400 Thompson Run Road, Allison Park on Friday at 11 a.m. NO Visitation prior to services. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Jewish Association on Aging, (www.jaapgh.org), an agency that provided Barb and her family with quality, compassionate care and support this past year. Family and friends are invited to a Luncheon to join in celebrating Barb's life at The Chadwick in Wexford, PA at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, September 13, 2019.
