RONALD C. SCHOFIELD, SR. Age 87, of Neville Island, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 22, 2019. Beloved husband of the late Alma (Panizzi) Schofield; dear father of Joyce (Don) Palm, Robert (Kim) Hoffman, Ron (Ann) Schofield, Jr. and the late William “Sy” Hoffman; also survived by six grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Brother of Darlene (Louie) Cercone; also survived by many nieces, nephews and other family members. Preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Goldie Schofield and his siblings, Dorsey Carter, Norman “Dutch” Schofield and Clifford Schofield. Also preceded in death by his grandchildren, Billy Mays and Randy Mays. Ronald was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local Union #66 and a member of the Shriner's of Pittsburgh. He was a great a man and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Family and friends are welcome for visitation on Thursday, December 26, 2019 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the ANTHONY M. She very much enjoyed traveling with her husband yearly to their Florida condo, and cooking, sewing, reading and gardening. Also survived by children, Darleen Sands, David E Scherf and Wayne E. WILLIAM PETRAKIS William Petrakis, (Carpenter Bill) passed away December 20, 2019 at the age of 91. Bill was born January 26, 1928 in Universal, PA. He was a naturally-gifted, self-taught carpenter who started making furniture for family and friends in grade school. His talent grew and he built his first home even before high school graduation -- for his parents in Monroeville. During his 50 plus years as a carpenter, he built hundreds of homes and retail spaces throughout southwestern Pennsylvania. Bill was an avid marksman, a hunter, a gun collector, a lifetime member of the McKeesport Sportsmen's Association, and country music fan (the classics) who loved to play his guitar and sing hymns at church. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Margaret, his brother Theo, and parents Kyriakos and Anna. Bill is survived by his children Anna Robinson (Robert), Kathryn Petrakis (Thomas Smith), Sandra Petrakis (Ed Sheehan), William A. Petrakis (Elaine) and his brother Steve. He was a devoted stepfather to Marti Magill (Glenn), Robert Janzef (Judy), Betty Highland (deceased, husband Daniel), and Glen Janzef; the adored Papou of Alexander Smith, (Sandra) Lydia Smith, Gregory Smith, Brian Petrakis, (Kaitlyn) Nicole Childs (Ben) and Joseph Petrakis. Beloved grandfather of Wendy Cortese, (Pat) Jason Magill, (Jen) Matthew Janzef (Racheal), (Kristin Janzef, Dustin Janzef (Shannon), Randy, Katie Hyland and Abbie Janzef. Bill had 13 great grandchildren and was also a cherished adopted grandfather to Jennifer Black. Bill was dearly loved by his large family. They will carry with them many fond and lasting memories of his straight talk, guitar playing, singing and carpentry skills. He will be greatly missed. BERNARD J. BELAN Age 81, of South Park, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 at Jefferson Hospital. Born August 29, 1938, in Whitaker, PA to the late Joseph and Mary (Koren) Belan. Bern was a loving husband to June A. (Kopp) Belan for 55 years; loving father to Kimberly J. Renners (Brady), Tracy L. Gilmartin (Mike), and Joseph B. Belan; and the most devoted “Zedi” to his four grandchildren. He is the beloved brother and brother-in-law to the late Alice and Frank Stecik, Evelyn and the late John Dzvonik, and the late Dorothy and Jack Troha. Bern spent two years serving our country and playing baseball while in the Army. Following his honorable discharge, he joined the Philadelphia Phillies minor league baseball team for five years as a relief pitcher. Bern then worked as a Pressman in the Structural Division of U.S. Steel before his retirement in 1986. He loved playing and coaching baseball, golfing with his friends, and spending quality time with his family and grandkids. Bern was truly a special man who always made things more fun and festive. SANDRA JEANNE GRIVNA Age 79, of Henderson, Nevada (since 2012), formerly of Monroeville, PA, died December 15, 2019. She was born in McKeesport, PA on February 18, 1940 and is the daughter of the late Eugene and Annette B. Skoczylas Molnar. She is the wife of the late Lawrence F. Grivna who died in 2000. Sandra graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor's degree in Public Administration. She was employed for many, many years with the US Government where she retired from the Human Resources Department. She was a volunteer at Forbes Regional Hospital and a member of the Free Hungarian Reformed Church in McKeesport. She is survived by her brother, Eugene Paul Molnar, niece, Brittney Ann Molnar, nephew, Brandon Paul Molnar, cousins, Patricia (Norm) Wilmans of Virginia, Karen (the late Kenneth) Janesic of Hudson, Ohio, Thomas (Peggy) Skoczylas of Warren, Ohio, Gerry Reinhart of Warren, Ohio, Kim (Harvey) Mazel of Penn Twp., Carol (Ed) Firanski of West Mifflin, PA, Ruth (Anthony) Spera of New Jersey, and Barbara Vautrin of New Jersey.
