MOORE JOHN R. John, 90, of Oakdale, died Sunday, May 29, 2016, in Martinsburg, PA. He was born February 22, 1926, in Oakdale, a son of the late Wesley A. and E. Anna Ross Moore. Mr. Moore was the third generation former owner of Moore's Hardware in Oakdale for over 40 years. He was a member of Good Shepherd U.P. Church where he served as a deacon; he was a member of the Oakdale Borough Council, and was a life member of the Oakdale Vol. Fire Dept. Mr. Moore was a World War II Army veteran. He participated in the Oakdale Community Band as a drummer in the 1950's and assisted with Oakdale Cub Scout Pack 848 and was active in the administrative operations activities of Oakdale Boy Scout Troop 248. Surviving are his wife of over 68 years, Audrey (Farrar) Moore; son, Gary (Kathleen) Moore of Entriken, PA; daughter, Betty Ann (Richard) Hays of TN; grandchildren, Beth Ann (Sean) Yargus, Robert Cowden, Barbi (Eric) Wright, Beverly King and Douglas J. (Kristi) Moore; he is also survived by 11 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters. NORRIS DAVID CLARK Age 89, formerly of Glenshaw, PA, passed away peacefully May 26, 2016, at Keystone Villa, Douglassville, PA. Born to Ben C. and Emma Morgan Norris in New Milford, PA, David married his beloved Dorie (Doris Selman Norris) on April 30,1955. With Dorie, he lovingly raised three daughters, Barbara E. Norris (Scarborough, ME), Lisa N. Traugott (Peter, Oley, PA), and Amy N. Reynertson (John, Geneva, IL). He greatly enjoyed his grandchildren, Ian, Jack, David, Katie and Scott. Dorie died in August 2006. Two brothers, Charles M. Norris, Sr., and Paul M. Norris, Sr., also preceded him in death. David is survived by his siblings, Janet N. Williams and Ralph B. Norris. He treasured close bonds with each of his brothers, his dear sister, and his many nieces and nephews. David was Valedictorian of the New Milford High School class of 1944 and then served in the U.S. Army (1945-1946). After matriculating at Penn State, he enrolled at Temple University Medical School, where he earned his degree in 1952. Upon completing his intern training in 1954, David was a physician with Westinghouse in Pittsburgh, PA. He soon established his own general practice in the area; sometimes he took a young daughter on house calls. He later specialized in psychiatry, his focus for the majority of his career. David retired in 2010 after 57 years in practice and over 50 years on the staff at West Penn Hospital. Medicine was his true calling. This gifted healer gladly tended to all in need of care, with compassion and respect. A gentle man who preferred to stay behind the scenes, David took pleasure in simple things like singing in choir, gardening, and other outdoor activities, stargazing, reading poetry, and playing cards and games with his family. His involvement and closeness with his church family brought him joy. He loved attending music and theatrical productions, and especially time with family and friends. He and Dorie also enjoyed traveling together. Husband, Dad, Grandpa, Brother, Uncle Dave, Doctor Dave, Mentor, Neighbor, Friend, he was beloved by all. His legacy is simple: Be guided by faith and integrity; serve with love and kindness. Take delight in the wonders of the every day. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jeane (Tocci); children, Bonnie Rossi (Bud), John Steele (Deanna), Nancy Kemper (James), Daniel Steele (Susan), Timothy Steele (Colleen), Amy Baird (William); grandchildren, Elizabeth and Michael Riel, Joseph and Katelyn Rossi, Alexander Rossi, Jessica and Stephanie Steele, Brian and Lisa Kemper; and great- grandson, Fitzgerald, Matthew and Katelyn Kemper, Lauren, Kimberly and Daniel Steele, Ryan and Tyler Steele, Dylan and Nicholas Hewitt, Daniel and Emily Baird. He is also survived by his brother, Joseph; and sister, Kathleen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Laura; brother, Barry; and grandson, Kyle Hewitt. John was born in Indiana, PA. He attended Indiana High School and North Carolina State College playing his favorite sport, football. John enlisted in the US Navy in 1952 and served as an electronics technician aboard the USS Sigourney for two world cruises and the final days of the Korean Conflict. John lived most of his life in Monroeville, PA where he raised his family. He worked for Westinghouse Corporation, Fisher Scientific and Sears and Roebuck Co. managing the bicycle repair shop. He retired with his wife to Pawleys Island, SC in 2005 where he lived until his death. John will be fondly remembered as a kind man, hardworking father, and proud US Navy veteran. He selflessly donated his body to science in hopes of contributing to Alzheimer's/ Dementia research. RUTKOWSKI STANISLAUS STANLEY Age 80, of Lawrenceville, on Tuesday, May 31, 2016. Born in Modlin, Poland, lived in Warsaw during WWII under German occupation and subsequently under Russian dominated Poland. Stanley graduated from the Warsaw Polytechnic with a Master of Science degree in Sanitary Engineering and worked for the Polish Ministry of Health in overseeing operation of water/waste water treatment plants. He arrived in the US in 1967, became a naturalized citizen and a registered professional engineer in PA. He founded Hydroproject Consulting Engineering and was employed by several engineering firms, including Chester Engineers, Lennon, Smith, Souleret Engineering and Wodzianski Engineering. He was an avid salt water sailor and swimmer, enjoyed fishing, playing bridge and dogs, especially Caro, his favorite Dalmatian. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jozefa; father, Mieczyslaw Rutkowski, Lt. Col. in the Polish Army; and his brother, Mieczyslaw, P.E., PhD. He is survived by his wife, Dzitka; daughter, Eva; his cousin, Olgierd Al Wodzianski, P.E., Professor Miroslaw Skibinewski, PhD; and numerous friends. There will be no visitation.
